Study on Synthesis and Properites of Ultraviolet Curing Coatings and Polyaniline Conductive Coating

Abstract: With the development of people’s living standard, human have a higher call for the environmental protection, thus traditional solvent coatings can no longer meet people’s needs. Radiation solidified coatings are regarded as one of the most environmental friendly paint,because they include no volatile organic solvent and no left-over solvent once the coating is dry, in addition,they have other excellent applied properties. Ultraviolet curing coatings (UVCC) are developing toward the optimization of light solidified constituents combined with light solidifying pattern. With the improvement of the design and production technology in UV curing coatings, and the appearance of some new kind of synthetical materials, the ratio of properties to price of UVCC will be more reasonable, UVCC will be more environmental friendly and became the mainstream of environmental friendly coatings. Furthermore, conductive coating is a new particular kind of paint, which has been widely used in electromagnetic materials, plastic, rubber, synthetic fiber, and electronic product. As the varieties of conductive coatings increased and its comprehensive properties improved, conductive coating will be utilized more extensively. This paper studies the wear resistance and the flow leveling of UVCC and conductive polyaniline coating.The main contents and conclusions of the research are as follows:1. This paper studies the factors influencing synthesis of low viscosity epoxy resin, investigates the choosing of additives and activity mechanism of leveling. The results show that leveling of UV solidified paint has something to do with the effects of viscosity of paint and additives, that viscosity of UV solidified paint depends mainly on viscosity of resin, and that if paint diluted by large quantity of monomer, properties of coatings will be badly affected.2. Using wooden floor as substrates, this research discusses effects on coatings of UV paint made by the types of resin, monomer functionality, types of filler, and the usage ofquantity of light initiator. The results show: (1)the types of resin have bigger effects on wear resistance of UV paint, and the measurement of wear resistance is: aromatic polyurethane acrylic resin > aliphatic urethane acrylate resin > multiple acid modified epoxy acrylic resin > bisphenol A epoxy acrylic resin;(2)the types and contents of filler also have bigger effects on wear resistance of paint. After comparing the properties of all sorts of filler, it is suggested that silicon dioxygen is used;(3) initiators can absorb UV themselves. There won’t be completely solidified under high concentration, but reaction won’t be initiated under low concentration.3. Conductive coating is a new type of functional coating, which can be widely used in aviation technology, chemical engineering, electrommunication, architecture and military industry. A novel anti-corrosion conductive coating with the conductivity of 10-8~10-4S/m was prepared by using the nano-size polyaniline (PANI) as the conductive padding. The effects of PANI content on the coating’s mechanical and chemical properties were investigated in detail. The results show that this coating have better conductivity and mechanical properties when the PANI content range from 15% to 30%.
