To Study the Role That Image Thinking Plays in Science Discovery Based on Affection Factors

Abstract: In recent years, more and more science research results from cognitive psychology and neuroscience shows that affection is closely linked with image thinking. The study of many cases in science discovery also shows that affection factors is an indispensable ingredient of image thinking. Affection factors, such as curiosity, suspicion, confidence, happiness, elegance play a vital part in science discovery, that is, plays an un-neglected cognitive role. Thus, it's a worthwhile subject to study to find out the role that the image thinking plays in science discovery based on affection factors.This dissertation begins its study with the relation between affection and image thinking, based on the integration of science philosophy, thinking science and modern cognitive psychology, and with the help of relating image thinking with affection characteristics, and demonstrates how image thinking plays its own deserving cognition and creation role in science research by means of affection factors which exist in the whole process of science discovery. Then concrete and detailed analysis is made on the image thinking affected by affection factors by means of typical science case study. In the end, this dissertation focuses on formulating the affection mechanism for the role that image thinking plays in science discovery. The dissertation consists of four chapters as follows.Chapter1, The role that image thinking plays in science discovery is formulated based on introducing the basic logic of image thinking and science discovery. Chapter2, This chapter analyzes the physiological mechanism of image thinking and affection, demonstrates that affection is the drive of image thinking, acting as a kind of blood running in the whole process of image thinking, points out that affection mechanism for the role that image thinking plays in science discovery. Taking two important affection factors- rational sense and beauty sense for example, profound analysis is made on the role that affection factors play in science discovery.Chapter3, The whole process of science discovery is condensed into three stagesbased on the original four stages by means of the important discovery of DNA, themost significant one in the molecular-biology field in the twentieth century. Theaffection mechanism is furthered on the role that image thinking plays in sciencediscovery on the basis of affection cognitive psychology.i. During the science investigation period, study direction is determined on the basisof affection and image thinking, and image thinking plays its own role in sensing thetheory model, improving the hypothesis of theory, and contributes to finding outproblems and solving them.ii. During the science discovery period, affection makes the image thinking act as akind of intuition and new discovery is made, which greatly stimulates science creationas a drive of image thinking.iii. During the science justification period, the sense of science beauty is introduced tosupport the hypothesis of the theory, and the theory of uniformity of affectioncontributes to the scientific judgment on the hypothesis.Chapter4, Too many analyses are made on how to cultivate positive affection andeliminate negative affection in order to facilitate the science discovery, thus ensuringthe success of science creation on the basis of formulating the dual role of affection aswell as its role in science discovery.This dissertation displays its creative power in finding out the affection cognitive psychological mechanism of the role that image thinking plays in science discovery by integrating science philosophy, thinking science and modern cognitive psychology…
