The Design and Implementation of Geographic Information System of Poyang Lake Wetland

Abstract: Wetland is a unique ecological system which is formed by the reciprocity of landand water and is precious natural resource which is vital to the existence of mankind.Using GIS technology to set up wetland of Poyang lake geographic information systemis of great significance in the informationized, integrated, intelligentized managementof wetland of Poyang lake and systemic ecological protection and sustainabledevelopment research. Based on the domestic and foreign research on wetland GIS, thenecessity of the application of geographic information system of wetland of Poyanglake the construction of spatial data management and spatial data applicationinfrastructure, the design of system's functional module and man-machine interface isstudied by taking the wetland of the Poyang lake for example in this paper.Adopting SQL server data management system, wetland informationclassification and data organization is studied; and multi-scale fundamental geographicdatabase and basic natural and society-economy database resource database are built;based on current prevalent COM software development technologies and database,adopting domestic advanced secondary development GIS software supermapobjects3.0, GIS software latform of wetland of Poyang lake is developed. This GISsoftware platform serves the function of data query, The fundamental geographicanalysis, thematic map-layer making, map display, data engine, typeset and output ofmap.The construction of system provides the administrative department withstandardized, high-quality, newly refreshed shared platform of basic geographic data ofPoyang lake, offering buffer zone analysis, stracking analysis of spatial information,spatial statistic analysis, thematic map, report manufacture, for the of administration ofcircumstance rosources in wetland of Poyang lake, technically supportinginformation-based management of wetland of Poyang lake…
