Study of Right Heart Function of Dogs in Acute Myocardial Ischemia of Left Ventricular by Strain Rate Imaging

Abstract: Objective: To study the changes of right heart function of dogs by Strain rate imaging (SRI) after the left ventricular acute myocardial ischemia.Method: 10 dogs were subjected to LAD coronary artery occlusion for acute ischemia. Peak strain rate of systole (SSR), early diastole (ESR), and late diastole (ASR) in right heart myocardial wall, the tricuspid annulus and right ventricular ejecting fraction (RVEF) were measured and catheter-measured systolic pressure of Pulmonary(PASP) were measured at pre and post ligation LAD, respectively. Result: PASP were increased (P<0.05). RVEF were decreased (P<0.05).SSR, ASR, ESR of the right ventricle and the tricuspid annulus were significantly decreased (P<0.05) after myocardium ischemia. The SSR、ESR of right atrial wall were increased (P<0.05). RVEF positively correlated with SSR of the right ventricle and the tricuspid annulus at pre- ischemia. RVEF positively correlated with SSR of the right ventricle and the tricuspid annulus at post- ischemia. SSR, ASR of the right ventricle positively correlated with SSR, ASR of the right atrial wall and PASP negatively correlated with SSR of the right ventricle and RVEF, respectively. Conclusion: Acute myocardial ischemia of LV can lessen the right ventricular systolic/diastolic function and increased PASP. Right atrial wall compensatory increase in systolic and diastolic function. There are a certain degree of correlation among strain rate of left ventricular and right ventricular and PASP…
